First of all, you know how much I love writing about the Pochette Metis, not only because it's a good investment but also because Louis Vuitton released some pretty cool new models of the Pochette Metis in 2021. Let's discover the new Pochette Metis 2022!
Now that we are well into 2022 with an ease of Covid restrictions, it's time now ladies (and gentleman!) to wear out your luxury bags! Why not start the year by treating yourself with a Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis 2022 edition!
Before I start this Pochette Metis 2022 design review I've wanted to talk about this big rumor since the beginning of March 2022: Louis Vuitton is releasing the « Micro Pochette Metis » meaning a micro version of the actual Pochette Metis that we all know. How exciting is this? But the remaining question is… what will fit in it? From what I’ve seen on FoxyLV Instagram, 3 colors will be release:

Pochette Metis 2022 Design Review
What does the Pochette Metis of 2022 look like ? Well, as usual Louis Vuitton is full of surprises. With fresh new colors and Monogram canvas, the brand really knows how to hit it's target! Im personally a big fan of this new color "Arizona" even though my preference will always be the classic Pochette Metis.

This versatile statement piece can we worn day or night because of very convenient features such as the removable cross-body strap which makes things easier during day time. Or at night, with just the leather top handle. For Spring/Summer 2022, Louis Vuitton embellished the Pochette Metis with some new embroidery inspired by the quilted linings of original Louis Vuitton trunks.
As explained in my last article about the Louis Vuitton Airplane bag, it seems like the statement of the luxury House has been to get back to its roots: travel luggage and travel accessories.
The House craftsmanship shines in the colors and textures of the stitching against the coated canvas.

Moreover, not only available in beige or "Arizona" colors, the Metis bag 2022 edition also come in black.

Another model that I haven't introduced yet is the Pochette Metis from the Wild at Heart capsule issued for Fall 2021. This is Louis Vuittons description of it:
Reinterpreting an archival design from 1924, the print’s hand-painted look gives this bag a bold, graphic presence. It is fitted with a removable long strap and a gold-finish S-lock, for a refined, signature touch.

I am definitely not a big fan of it, but that's just my personal opinion! What I tend to dislike the most is the leopard print inside.
Louis Vuitton 2022 Price Increase
As usual, it's the time of year when the vast majority of luxury brands jack up the prices ! If you have already invested in luxury bags, you should be fairly comfortable about the price increase. But for those who have their eyes set on items and can't throw themselves out there, well it's a little bit different. The last increase was in October 2021. Additionally, this February 2022 price increase is the first one of 2022 for Louis Vuitton. Not all of the items increased but the Pochette Metis is one of them! It went from $2,360 to $2,570.
It's a common thing for luxury brands to increase prices throughout the year but lately, prices have been skyrocketing. Inflation plays a big part in this, as production cost, raw materials as well as transportation issues too. Despite the recent tragic events and a 2 year pandemic, the demand for luxury goods have never been that high. No surprise that brand will continue to increase their prices and that the demand will follow.
